This reservoir is next to Castellar, a Moorish fortress, a village within a castle. It is located in a natural park, Parque Natural de los Alcornocales. The castle offers breathtaking views over the countryside towards Campo de Gibraltar and on clear days, you can see Africa to the south and a few mountain villages to the north. This reservoir is in an isolated location but it is worth the effort to get there as you can see deers, rabbits, many birds as vultures or eagles, turtles, otters and many others.
